Makalé Faber Cullen is an environmental anthropologist and strategist whose work in biocultural conservation and design spans two decades. She bridges biodiversity, public landscapes, and cultural heritage to reimagine civic ecologies and the relationships that sustain place-based biodiversity. A co-founder of Brightside, she shapes research, narrative, and strategy to cultivate partnerships rooted in beauty, diversity, and care—helping shape healthier, more joyful, and just urban futures. Outside of Brightside, Makalé is a research scientist studying microbial ecology across urban-to-rural gradients.
